Progress Report

Where are you bloggers? I have had a great service from the Thomas Parry Library at the Department of Information and Library studies Aberystwyth, University of Wales. I deposited my father's papers there after he died and they have made pdf copies and put them in their dropbox. So far I have only sought his school reports from 1919 to 1924 with headteacher references. these match with letters from his father from the Eastern fronts in Mesopotamia and Waziristan during and after WW1. I also have the script of his broadcast in 1950. and some other papers. There is much more but I am trying to establish the principles and themes which drove him so I'll work on what I've got first.

My article on his mobile libraries in Tottenham was finally published in 'Starting Point', the journal of the Branch and Mobile Library Association, along with some good pictures I got from Bruce Castle Museum Archives.

I also had a very interesting meeting with Frank and his wife in Oxford and we spent several hours exchanging progress reports and ideas. He had some very interesting experiences researching in Spain but I'll leave him to report on that.

That's me up to date, so let's hear from some of you. It doesn't have to be final draft of the great work, just a piece you've written recently or not showed us before, or just a bit of an update.
